I had to think quickly I figured. I don't want him to think I've got any doubts. I forced a smile, and said,
"Ok."
He smiled and gestured for me to follow. So, I followed suit. Instantly after I walked out of the room, the door slammed shut behind me, making me jump violently. My Other-Half turned to look at me, and I managed another forced smile. He observed me for another two seconds and returned my smile.
"I am going to take you to the main room."
I couldn't help noticing that his smile also seemed force.
He lead the way, leading to the left. I followed but not too close behind. I examined the corridor we were walking through. It was in the same theme as the room I left. Mahogany doors... mahogany furniture...patterned ceilings... red curtains - concealing what?
"So... what is this place?" I asked. I had so many questions to ask.
He didn't answer. Instead he kept on walking. Thinking he hadn't heard, I said a little louder,
"What is this place?"
Still no answer. Thinking he still hadn't heard me, I took a deep breath, and opened my mouth till he said,
"I heard you once Tom. You don't have to repeat yourself."
Feeling foolish, I sheepishly muttered,
"I could at least have had an answer..."
This time however, he answered, "You will see the answer in just a few minutes."
He turned sharply again to the left of the corridor. I followed, quickening up my pace. I decided to ask a different question.
"Your name... is it Tom as well?"
"Yes." He replied shortly.
I also noticed that his mood and personality has changed. He's no longer the eager and polite person - thing - I met. I abrubtly stopped walking. A few paces after, he stopped as well. He said, without turning around,
"Yes...?"
"Where am I." I said casually.
"You will find out in a moment."
"I want to know now."
"You will in a moment." He replied, this time turning around to face me. His cold eyes fixed onto mines. We were within a few feet from each other.
"NO!" I shouted. "I have every right to know where I am, and I deserve to have every one of my questions answered! You have no right - no right whatsoever to keep me here!"
"This is not - "
"SHUT UP!" I bellowed.
Ringing silence.
Awkward silence. But still, his steady gaze was locked onto me. There was no change in his calm and cold expression.
I was shocked with myself. I didn't mean to have yelled that out. But I decided - must-keep-cool-stay-calm-breathe, Tom...breathe-keep-breathing. I looked at him, concealing my doubts in my face, but showing him my anger, my frustration and without meaning to, my fear.
"You will follow me." He said.
"I do not take orders from strangers like yourself." I spat out angrily.
He smiled. He smiled sneeringly but also calm. I hated that expression. In fact I loathed that expression. That calm... that cold look.
"But Tom... I am not a stranger. I am you. Don't you see?" He said.
I waited.
He waited.
I looked at his face. His twisted evil face, I noticed.
I couldn't stand it anymore.
"Don't I see what?!" I shouted. A little deperately I realized.
He smiled again. Sneeringly. He cocked his head to the side. And shifted his gaze from looking into my eyes to look behind me. I took a step forwards.
"You will tell me." I raised both my fists.
"And you will let me go."I took another step forwards towards him.
"And -"
I felt sharp pain on my head. I cried out in pain. I saw stars burst out of no where, and everything went black.
